Normative

Currently the 7 species of sea turtles are in danger of extinction, listed by NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2012.

We currently work under the standards of NOM-162-SEMARNAT-2012, which establishes the specifications for the protection, recovery and management of sea turtle populations in their nesting habitat.

Why do our services have a cost?

Gas

It is necessary to put gasoline in 3 ATVs that travel 27 km of coast all night from 7pm to 8am. The beaches that are monitored range from Playa Manzanillo to Playa Vigía, a large part of this extension of the coast is virgin and in this we can appreciate a great biodiversity, from mangroves, rivers, lagoons, bioluminescent, a great variety of birds, turtles, crocodiles, vegetation and of course the most beautiful sunsets in Oaxaca. By protecting sea turtles we protect an entire ecosystem.

Salaries

Salaries to biologists, technicians, monitors, assistants and volunteers.

Team

Investment in the necessary equipment to carry out our work, that is, to buy and innovate our work tools, this ranges from equipment for marking, maintenance to the project infrastructure, from incubation pens, ATVs and work tools.

donations

You support the growth of the project and thus be able to implement new actions that comprehensively improve our skills to conserve and protect the environment. One of them would be that thanks to their contribution and contribution, an organic garden project was started through which the volunteers of the turtle community camp will be shown a life of sustainable self-consumption, we continue to contribute and we want to achieve a sustainable life, that is, to live in harmony with the local community to preserve culture and nature, as well as increase their income and in this way promote care for the environment through jobs for local communities and thus eradicate the looting of turtle eggs on the beaches, as well as contribute to the caring for nature, being a sustainable organization in the broad sense of the word.

Community

Also collaborate and contribute to the conservation of future turtle nests. One of the most important points is the development of environmental awareness campaigns in local communities.
